Who thought I was an actress, who let me in places for free, who compared my looks to a young Ingrid Bergman … and then in my diary I wrote, “If this is all so true, then why am I alone?” But I think all that time alone (and it not only took years to find my soul mate, but a good friend too!) really helped me grow as a person. Looking back, I cherish that time so much even though I am so in love with my husband. I think it’s most important for people to embrace wherever they are at, which I did at the time. Just enjoy because there will always be something you long for and it will come, in God’s time. Hope this helped :)

I guess in the paradigm I’ve been studying we use an umbrella term “antisocial” which is different from sociopathy/NPD, but that behavior which is abnormally self-centered and socially destructive. It seems we are in agreement, just using different terms. A colleague of mine has written extensively on NPD, and I am a survivor of its abuse myself. It is still a bit of a mystery in psychology and healing arts. My hope is education, and using warning signs sooner than later to heal. Work like yours helps to enlighten. Blessings on the journey!
