Maddy Update 2

maddy after surgeryi

Hello all,

Quick update.  I just picked Maddy up from the vet…$1100.00 later, thank goodness for credit cards.

She is fine from her cherry eye surgery–although I have to say that picture really does look scary.  It freaked me out when I picked her up.  The vet says the lump is her lymph nodes and hopefully it’s just an infection that antibiotics will take care of.  So hoping for that.  I wont have the results of the biopsy for another 48 hours.

In the meantime that lovely cone is supposed to stay on her for 7-10 days.  Days not hours…dear God.   I have to put drops in her eyes 3 times a day starting tomorrow.  Have you ever put drops in a dogs or cats eyes?  Seriously, so not fun.

The antibiotics are pills 2 X a day.  Pills are much easier you can hide them in treats.

Of course, I had to hand feed her some kibble as she can’t reach the food in the bowl with the cone on.  Hmnn, I may have to make the cone a little shorter in a few days.  Honestly I was expecting her to have some kind of goggles on like when I had my lasik eye surgery.  I think I’ll google that and see what I can find.

So Maddy is home safe and sound, separated from Missy and Marly as they are much too curious around her.

I will update when I have the biopsy test results.  Also Missy has worms, so I have to take care of that as well.

Good times….good times…….

Maddy Update

DSC01736

Hola everyone,

I just dropped off Maddy at the Vets to get her cherry eye surgery taken care of.  Last night as I was putting her to bed I noticed her face seemed swollen.  I found a huge mass of tissue just under her jaw.  The vet is going to check it out before surgery.  Please keep her in your prayers today.  I hope the mass is nothing (fingers crossed) as I have not gotten her pet insurance yet.

My poor little girl.

Misc Update…..

Marly DSC03548

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.  I have been a bit under the radar lately.  Actually I was thrown into a depression and just hanging on so as not to take a leap into that black pit of suicidal thoughts.

How did I get here?  Well it turns out  that the landlord even after I got a personal trainer for the puppies wants me to move out after all.   I can’t really talk about that yet as I am still residing in the same location but when I am moved out I will write about the details.

Yes, that was the last straw for me.  It was a depression in which I would stay up till 4 am watching episodes of the “L Word” fast forwarding through all the sex scenes and then I would get up at 1 or 2 pm because I had to.  But all I really wanted to do was hide under the covers from the world.

It is the panic of being on the streets homeless with 3 dogs and 2 cats.  Business has been slow and my bank account rather than increasing has slowly been decreasing.  I don’t even have the money to move if I found a place.

I have till the end of summer at the latest the end of the year to move out.

So first priority is hiring new performers.  And that has been frustrating because I have hired and trained 4 people in the last 3 months and then they have flaked out on me–so frustrating.

Hiring is top on the list–then saving money to move out.

I am doing better–at least I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel–as long as I don’t get pounded again and I am left in a bit of peace and quiet to go about my business.

Maddy has her eye surgery on Monday.  I tried doing the holistic route with eye drops and massage but to no avail.  Surgery it seems is the only way to fix her cherry eye.

I usually turn down credit card offers but since her surgery is going to cost $900.00 I said yes to one credit card offer.

So, that where I am at in this moment.  I am just hanging on and working on moving forward in a positive way.  And as many of you know that is quite the challenge in and of itself.

I will try to catch up on my blogging. I would like to finish the cruise and New Orleans stories, I know I have some awards that I am so behind on as well, and a poem I promised to write.

So tonight I bought some lottery tickets.  Someone does win after all every couple of months or so.

And as part of the healing journey I will start reading tonight, “The Betrayal Bond”-Breaking free of Exploitative Relationships.  I am almost afraid of what I will learn in reading that book, but I think it’s time.

I love all of my readers and followers–you guys keep me going.  You have been that life saver for me in a sea of turmoil this past year.  I am blessed to know all of you and to share in your stories as well.

lots of love,

Ivonne and the girls…..

Christmas Caribbean Cruise….Part Nine Christmas Night

After all the excitement of getting out of face painting, journeying into Jamaica to procure rum and coffee then followed the dash to get back onto the ship for the first formal dinner on the cruise.

I think we had less than hour maybe more like 30 mins to get showered and changed into formal wear for Christmas Dinner.    I think I was the only one at my table who got dressed up in formal wear.  I had actually brought so many options because I had been informed that there would be 2-3 nights in which formal wear was required.  I wore a red sparkly top with black sparkly pants and my 4″ red satin heels.

The ship was so elegant that night as about 90% of the cruisers did get dressed up for Christmas.  The families especially got all dressed up and there were two areas on the ship set up for the formal picture-taking.

The Capt of the ship was also out and about.  I did get a picture taken with the Capt but then I did not purchase any.  The main event that evening was the Christmas Caroling on the promenade deck.  All in all it was such a lovely evening.

Below are the pictures from Christmas Night 2012 aboard the cruise ship.
